**BASIC DESCRIPTION**:
Operate lockshop and perform apprentice level work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of manual and automated locks, locking systems and security devices including automated door openers, closers, and related hardware.

Working Conditions (Physical Requirements)
- Able to wear protective equipment such as safety boots and eye protection.
- Able to work in the field without supervision
- Must be available to work off normal hours to meet customer needs
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting/carrying tools and equipment (up to 30Kg unassisted) bending, standing, climbing or walking
- Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
- Understanding of computer, networks, routing and IT related systems

- Ability to read and work from plans, drawings, and blueprints as appropriate to trade

Education and Experience
- Education: Graduation from high school, eligibility for enrolment in Ontario Locksmith

Apprenticeship program
- Experience: Minimum

License or Certificate:

- Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and maintain a clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to complete the following training as required: Lock out tag out, fall arrest, working at heights, Boom and Genie lift certification,confined space, WHMIS, Medeco

M4, X4, Master keying.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. The following duties are listed both as specific and shared responsibilities, other duties may be assigned as required to meet demands of the business.
- Upholds and promotes Secureway founding principles
- Install, repair and maintain commercial lockable hardware such as doors, automatic electric door, windows, lockers and magnetic keying systems.
- Design, implement and maintain master key systems
- Make new keys; replace broken or lost keys
- Ability to install, program and verify various security and access control systems
- Maintain up to date knowledge of latest industry products systems and trends
- Coordinate with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently
- Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and safety regulations
- Prepare documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats (e.g. daily paperwork, time and materials, key inventory, etc.)
- Request equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items
- Assist other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities (i.e. coordination with electricians and carpenters)

**Salary**: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
