The Sales Account Executive is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and growing share in the territory, by expanding sales to existing customers and developing new business opportunities within the territory.
Remains current on market conditions which impact on the region and use the information to anticipate market changes for Sun, our customers, and our customers’ customers. The role will orchestrate resources to gain the necessary support to meet our customer’s needs.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:
- All sales activities related to their assigned accounts.
- Developing a consultative, value-added strategy to optimize opportunities for growth within the territory.
- Collaborating with internal resources including Manufacturing, Product Management, Technical Service, Regulatory and Customer Service to provide the highest standard of service.
- Act as a gateway to the depth and breadth of Sun Chemical’s market leading technology for Inks, Coatings, Consumables, Adhesives and next-generation sustainable products and technologies.
- Learn and understand the Customers Operating Reality, providing Voice of the Customer using tools like Call Planning Worksheets (CPW) and Action Item Registers (AIR).
- Develop and maintain account level strategies, identifying key buying factors, stakeholders, decision makers and influencers. Develop value propositions specific to each customer and their needs. Facilitate the Customer and Sun Chemical technical meetings.
- Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to develop volume, revenue, margin targets and strategize how to meet those targets.
- Set and pursue annual SMART Goals to support personal development and business success.
- Recognize and understand competitive threats and opportunities, developing strategies to protect existing customer base and capture new business.
- Managing day-to-day territory needs through in-person and remote customer interactions.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions (Call Logs), opportunities (pipeline) and sales activities using Salesforce.
**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Post Secondary Education in Business Administration or other relevant area of study desired.
- 5 years of successful sales or technical sales experience, preferably in the printing ink, flexible packaging or commercial sheetfed industry. Experience in Chemical Distribution Sales, Graphic Arts Sales, or Printing is also highly desirable.
- Proven ability to sell at the C Suite Level with proven track record of year over year sales growth.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, or other CRM software.
- Demonstrated repeat success closing high volume new account sales. Ability to manage the largest and most complex Independent Account locations.
**TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS**:60% (local and regional)
