Our Thunder Bay location in Ontario, Canada is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Regional Supply Chain Manager for Ontario Sawmills. This job is permanent, full-time.

**Regional Supply Chain Manager for Ontario Sawmills**

**This is a senior position whose core responsibility is to purchase materials, services and equipment for the three sawmills located within Northwestern Ontario. The Regional Supply Chain Manager for Ontario Sawmills will work with the Stores & Procurement team across the region to process requests for materials and services using our materials management system, obtaining the best value for the lowest possible costs. The applicant must be able to function in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are a priority and handling multiple jobs simultaneously is a requirement.**

**Your challenges**:

- Prepare and review requests for proposal (RFQ’s) as well as Master Services Agreements (MSA’s) for key regional service providers and suppliers;
- Lead discussions with regional suppliers in contract negotiations for long-term strategic materials and/or services procurement;
- Liaising with divisional and operational personnel in the research and selection of services and materials costing information;
- Maintain part standardization for the region and sharing of critical spares, providing parts inventory support to all Ontario Sawmills (Thunder Bay, Atikokan, & Ignace) including monitoring, setting up and stocking inventory items in accordance with min/max established by discussions with operations & maintenance;
- Expediting ordered goods including monitoring, shipping, following up on backorders and cancelling or changing orders as required;
- Work closely with Finance department to improve and streamline processes for cost recognition, as well as support efforts for problem invoice investigation & resolution
- Take full responsibility for compliance with key performance indicators and respect deadlines;
- Coordinate procurement meetings jointly with the mills and resolve problems between buyers and mills as they arise;
- Ensure suppliers respect the delivery times for products ordered and invoices are paid promptly;
- Ensure that the personnel at the mills under your responsibility have a sound understanding of the Company’s purchasing directives and that justification forms are properly completed;
- Seek to identify opportunities for cost reduction, and implement cost reduction projects by monitoring site consumption patterns and leveraging supplier contracts;
- Support vendor contract relationships;
- Tackle targeted sourcing opportunities in collaboration with strategic sourcing managers;
- Consulting with immediate supervisor on pertinent matters and performing special projects and other assigned duties as required.

- Reporting to the Regional Controller, you will be part of a results-oriented team whose members are encouraged to exceed expectations;
- You will have oversight of stores & procurement personnel across the region.

**Your profile**:

- Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Procurement, Operations Management, Production Management or Finance.
- 5-7 years of work experience within an industrialized manufacturing setting.
- Able to travel as required.
