Cultural Program Planning Intern

**Job Summary**
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director - Anishinabe Spiritual Centre, the Cultural Program Planning Intern will work in a collaborative and respectful manner with a team approach. The Cultural Program Planning Intern will assist the Executive Director in the planning and executing of programs at the Anishinabe Spiritual Centre. They will also offer support to other departments as needed.
**Responsibilities**
- Manage all social media communications
- Provide administrative and office support to the Executive Director
- Research pricing, build contacts, follow up with associates for various programs as required
- Prepare marketing materials such as pamphlets and signage
- Assist/attend special events and meetings
- Gather materials for events, assist with set-up, clean up as needed
- Attend meetings, take minutes and prepare for distribution
- Assist with quarterly newsletter publication and distribution
- Assist with reception duties including answering phone calls and forwarding accordingly, take messages/ welcome and direct visitors and those on retreat
**Skills**
- Experience in Indigenous Cultural practices and traditions
- A self-starter, can work independently yet also work as a part of a team
- Detail oriented, good planning skills, strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, Confident presentation skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours according to the needs of the Centre
- Knowledgeable and respectful of Anishinabe customs, culture, tradition, practice and language
- Knowledgeable and respectful of the Catholic faith and tradition
- Motivated and energetic
**Qualifications**
Graduate from a recognized College and or University preferably within an Indigenous Studies Program
- Experience working with the public
- Excellent social media skills
- Strong research skills
- Office experience
- Fluency in Anishinabemowin is an asset
- Be willing to provide a CPIC with a Vulnerable Sector
- Must have a Class G Ontario Driver’s License and access to a vehicle willing to travel
- Must have $1,000,000. Automobile insurance

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
