Athletics Coordinator - Facilities Management & Game Day- staff
Full-time - Open until filled - Starts: Aug. 1, 2021**The Position**:
The Athletics Coordinator - Facility Management and Game Day (FMGD), reports to the Manager of Athletics and contributes to the department's overall vision by planning and executing all home athletic contests and events while managing the daily operations of all assigned athletic facilities. This FMGD is instrumental in achieving the goal of providing exceptional experiences for every student and guest.

**This is a 10 Month - (August - May), Full Time position.**

**Responsibilities**:
**Facilities Management**
- Responsible for developing, delivering, administering, and guiding all athletic facilities services, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming athletics environment for all students, staff, and guests.
- Hire, train, develop, schedule, and supervise a team of student-staff members. Establish a culture that aligns with the mission and values of the Athletics Department and University.
- Responsible for organizing and leading the setup and breakdown of various athletic facilities for all athletic home contests and events.
- Manage all athletic facility schedules, including varsity, intramurals, rentals, and academics.
- Responsible for maintaining the athletics facilities and gameday check-in process with the campus services and IT departments.
- Complete regular safety inspections and oversee the maintenance of facilities and equipment to ensure competitive conditions and safe spaces.
- Coordinate all athletic space requests in collaboration with the campus services department, including the scheduling of camps and clinics, recruiting events, and external partner requests.
- Serve as the department liaison to the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Collaborate with admissions to create an Athletics tour for potential students and facility users. Develop and update athletic information and services regularly.
- Develop and regularly update all athletic facilities' training manuals and customer service protocols.
- Coordinate the laundry process of all practice gear and game uniforms, including the maintenance and care of laundry machines and facilities.
- Assist the Manager of Athletics in preparing proposals and budgets for facility upgrades/renovations, capital items, and varsity events.
- Manage all facility-related service needs (e.g., fitness equipment maintenance, custodial requests, facility maintenance, etc.)

**Game Day**
- Ensures athletic competition facilities are safe and prepared for varsity games, including players' and officials' locker rooms and spectator seating areas.
- Act as the Game Day supervisor, overseeing visiting teams, game day officials, and campus guests.
- Collaborate with league officials, visiting institutions, coaches, and athletics personnel to assess event and facility requirements.
- Hire, train, develop, schedule, and supervise event and game-day operations staff.
- Responsible for ensuring all facility users adhere to all Department and University policies and procedures and the rules, regulations, bylaws, and interpretations of the OCAA and the NCCAA.
- Manage with discretion and good judgment problems and situations that arise during events (i.e., media access, ticket sales, guest lists, event security, health emergencies).
- Work with the Media and Sports Information Coordinator to execute a positive and safe game day experience for all attendees.

**Preferred Skills and Attributes**:

- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently, exercise creativity, solve problems, be attentive to detail, and lead, organize and supervise staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills and an ability to work under pressure.
- Be a strong team player, willing to work successfully within a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, especially during the sports season portion of the academic year, including many evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge and understanding of athletic events and athletic facility operations at the collegiate level.
- Knowledge of budget and cost estimating principles and procedures

**Education, Training & Certifications**:

- Undergrad degree, college diploma, or comparable combination of education and work experience.
- Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C.
- Two to three years of relevant experience in facilities and event operations preferred.

**Other Requirements**:

- Understanding of and commitment to Redeemer University (mission, vision, and Reformed Christian identity)
- Experience leading, developing, and imparting technical knowledge to student staff.
- Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
