Order Picker/packer

The shipper performs a wide variety of activities related to transport, inspection, processing, storage, distribution and moving of supplies, materials, products and equipment.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Shipping of Dental Pharmaceuticals (Oral, Cosmetic, Anesthetic Skin Care and Disinfectant products)
- Printing customer orders from ERP system
- Picking orders noting lot numbers
- Checking expiry dates
- Gathering orders on shipping tables
- Signing off on:

- who picked order
- number of pieces
- Reporting picking in ERP system
- Checking orders by confirm accuracy of information on pick list
- Securely packing orders
- Ensuring that dangerous goods are properly marked and paperwork is completed when needed
- Moving orders to rollers to be shipped
- Creating shipping transactions on carrier interfaces
- Building separate pallets for different carriers as required
- Loading trailers as necessary
- Re-stocking products when needed
- Assisting the team as needed
- Racking of Packaging Components and Finished Goods
- Care and maintenance of Warehouse. Ensuring that aisles are clear and free of debris and material in consideration with available storage space.
- Control and Storage of Chemicals and Dangerous Goods
- Picking export orders as directed by Supervisor
- Compliance with ISO 9001 GMP regulations
- Following responsibilities as outlined in the Ontario Health and Safety Act
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

**Qualifications**

**Education**:

- Minimum grade 12 education required
- Possession of a valid Forklift License is an asset
- Transportation of Dangerous Good Certification is an asset

**Skills/Abilities/Characteristics**:

- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be flexible to change
- Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work occasional overtime
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks

**Experience**:

- One (1) year of warehouse experience involving the receipt, storage and distribution of supplies utilizing warehouse equipment
- Experience operating a forklift and/or tow motor is an asset
- Experience in a similar manufacturing environment and safe handling of dangerous materials

**Working Conditions**
- Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures
- Exposed to warehouse and manufacturing environment, with some outdoor work.
- Will be required to work on feet for long periods of time.
- Fast paced with tight deadlines
- Some computer use
- Required to wear PPE i.e. safety footwear

**Physical Requirements**
- Lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to a maximum of 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and written
- Ability to read a variety of materials including PO’s, order requests, safety labels and work instructions
- Possess dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk, bend at the waist, kneel or crouch
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Climb a step stool or ladder and reach hands above shoulders
- Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels
