**As the Marine Operations Administrator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our ferry crew members. Your primary focus will be on the development, implementation, and oversight of engaging training programs that ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Act as the go-to resource for crew training needs, proactively addressing trainees' questions to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Effectively manage crew scheduling and assignments in alignment with minimum safe manning requirements.
- Track and analyze training data to gauge compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate and assist with safety drills to reinforce our commitment to a strong safety culture in line with company policies.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs covering critical areas such as emergency response and passenger safety.
- Promote adherence to Transport Canada (TCMSS) regulations, including MED, STCW, and others, ensuring our crew meets the highest standards.
- Keep accurate crew certification records and manage renewal schedules to maintain up-to-date qualifications.
- Contribute to the enhancement of Safety Management Systems (SMS) through regular updates and audits.
- Participate in familiarization and performance reviews of crew.
- To shape the future of our crew’s training, and safety and environmental compliance, making a positive impact on our organization and the communities we serve.
**Requirements**:
- Marine certification (Master, Mate, or Engineer) is an asset.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in ferry or marine operations, with a focus on training or leadership development
- Familiarity with SMS, risk assessments, and marine emergency procedures.
- Strong understanding of Transport Canada, IMO, and SOLAS regulations.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and documentation skills, enabling effective collaboration and training delivery.
- Must be willing to travel within British Columbia
