The CAMH Education Digital Innovation program is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Moodle System Administrator to support the development and delivery of Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) training programs for clinicians across the province. This includes e-learning courses, web-based community of practice, webinars, user guides, and other learning and support materials, as needed, with an emphasis on embedding best practices for evidence-based education delivery and accessibility requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Administer and manage the Moodle environment, including installation, upgrades, patches, and user management
- Develop custom Moodle themes, plugins and course learning activities where required
- Update existing custom Moodle themes, plugins and course learning activities to meet requirements and enhance user experience
- Develop (and configure existing) custom reports using the Ad-hoc database queries Moodle plugin
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Moodle performance, functionality, and security
- Ensure data security and integrity, implementing best practices for backup, disaster recovery, and system performance
- Provide technical support and training for Moodle users (administrators, designers, facilitators, and learners)
- Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure stability of Moodle deployments across production and sandbox environments
- Stay up-to-date with new Moodle features, plugins, and best practices, and provide recommendations for improvements.
**Job Requirements**
- Strong proficiency in **PHP**, **JavaScript**, and **HTML/CSS**:
- Deep understanding of **MySQL**and **MariaDB**for Moodle database administration
- Knowledge of **Git**for version control and collaborative development
- Understanding of running Moodle in web servers (e.g., **Apache**or **Nginx**) and **SSL certificates**:
- Familiarity with Moodle’s interaction with **Linux**and/or **Windows**operating system
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as **AWS**or **Microsoft Azure**for hosting Moodle
- Experience with integrating Moodle with other tools and platforms
- Understanding of web accessibility guidelines
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team
Analytical and problem solving abilities, organizational and time management skills are required. You are enthusiastic, flexible and capable of working independently and in a team setting, and can demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and can work well under pressure. You have the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
