Extreme Excavating is seeking a project manager with a minimum of 3 years experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for researching and gathering all the necessary information to bid work as per company requirements and to oversee projects though to completion ensuring their adherence to budget and schedule.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assist in securing new work by preparing estimates, working with consultants and/or participating in proposals and presentations;
- Ensure proper submission of tenders;
- Work closely with Operations Team to ensure proper flow of documentation and communication between site and office;
- Ensure project safety standards and environmental programs are planned and adhered to - meeting or exceeding standards set out by contract or regulating body (whichever is higher);
- Perform and provide accurate material take-offs, create traffic management plans, quality control plans, site safety plans, etc. specific to the project;
- Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules;
- Follow up on scheduling variances and adjust production accordingly to ensure unnecessary delays are avoided;
- Track holdback periods and request holdbacks;
- Manage and maintain projects library;
- Prepare and submit schedule of quantities and monthly progress reports;
- Review project budget with Owner
- Work with Site Foremen on all aspects of project planning, oversee subcontractor selection process and work;
- Monitor project performance; including the project schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety & environment, and quality control;
- Travel to project sites for start-up, completion and periodic meetings/work on site as required;
- Other job-related duties as required.

**Qualifications and Abilities Needed**:

- Proficient in preparation of firm tenders / design build projects / proposal preparation
- Analytical and observational skills
- Ability to organize budgets, control cost and manage several complex projects
- Three to Five years experience working in Civil Construction
- Excellent Communication skills - written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

**Certification Required**:

- Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma is preferred (or an equivalent combination of education/experience)
- CSTS 09
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
