Who Can Apply?: **Internal (DCC Employees) and External (General Public)** - Salary Range: **$42,302 - $54,992** - Employment status: **Term** - Term Length: **4 Months** - Security Level: **Reliability** - Language Requirement: **English Essential** - Closing Date: **02/02/2025** - Country: **Canada** *Hybrid Work Schedule* The Financial Analyst (Student) carries out a variety of financial activities and supports Finance team members. **KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES** **The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive**: **Primary** - Process invoices for payment according to the Financial Administration Act - Process third-party online payroll payments - Enter cash receipts into financial system - Assist with account reconciliations - Assist with journal entries - Assist with preparing financial reports - Assist with internal audits - Assist with documenting procedures relevant to the Financial Analyst (Student) role **Other** - Assist with year-end activities - Provide administrative support (e.g. act as backup for other Finance staff, data entry) - Other duties as assigned **SKILLS** **General and Specific Knowledge** - Finance and accounting principles - Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards **Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience** - ** Minimum**:currently enrolled in a university accounting program (preferably third or fourth year) **Abilities** - Use applicable computer software and operating systems (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) - Perform repetitive data entry with high level of precision - Meet strict deadlines - Demonstrate strong attention to detail **DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP** - Provide occasional functional advice and guidance to employees **WORKING CONDITIONS** - Typical office environment - The duration of the term will be from May 2025 to August 2025 To begin a career with Defence Construction Canada (DCC), you must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. As a condition of employment with DCC, a minimum reliability security status clearance is required and some roles may require secret security status clearance. - DCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process_. Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints.
