**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Assist the Product Development team with new developments or re-formulations to meet customer or company needs from conceptualization to finished product launch.
- Coordination of all technical information, analysing data and writing reports.
- Assist with the development of new formulas, packaging, testing, and sourcing of required materials and suppliers.
- Collaborate with PD and RA teams to ensure compliance across governing regulations and requirements.
- Work alongside with cross-function team members to facilitate new product trials and start-ups
- Development of label copy documents such as combined ingredient lists, nutrient content claims, health claims etc.
- Creation of cooking instructions that result in the best possible eating experience of the product.
- Evaluate new product trials/market samples through sampling and sensory appraisal.
- Maintenance of all PD areas in clean and safe condition always.
- Your work environment will be a combination of deskwork, lab/kitchen work and time spent in a refrigerated manufacturing plant.
- You may be required to stand for extended periods of time in the plant conducting trials or overseeing production runs.
- Updating and organising documents.
- Packing and sending out customer samples.
- Collecting ingredients, substrates and finished product samples from the plant and warehouse.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Science, Engineering, Culinary or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in R&D/Product Development role in the food industry.
- Meat industry experience preferred
- Must work closely with Management, Sales, Production, Purchasing, Quality and RA teams
- High proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as Label software and Genesis
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to analyse data, write reports and present information.
- Self-starter who is very passionate about product development
- Creative and flexible to learn and bring on new ideas
- A car is an asset as travel may be required to our other facilities
- You must be willing to consume and evaluate the products we make, including poultry, beef, pork, seafood, cheese, vegetables and other plant-based meat alternatives.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and analytical mind set
- Ability to work as a team and with mínimal supervision

**Work Environment**:

- Varying schedule with some over-time required
- Works with raw food product and meat
- Your work environment will be a combination of deskwork, lab/kitchen work and time spent in a refrigerated manufacturing plant.
- You may be required to stand for extended periods of time in the plant conducting trials or overseeing production runs.
