**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide direct care to all residents in all home areas (Retirement and Memory Lane): personal care, bathing, toileting, dressing, transfers, mobility, assist, supervise and cue residents with activities of daily living
- Provide laundry and light housekeeping services in the absence of laundry and housekeeping staff
- Monitor and report any changes/illness in a resident’s condition with regard to physical changes, illness, changes in behaviour, pain, changes in skin condition
- Assist to manage behaviours for residents living with Dementia and Mental Health
- Assist Unregulated Care Provider (UCP) with vital signs, weights and heights
- Assist in the dining room with meal service and supervise and provide assistance to residents during meal service
- Perform any other duties as per the Care Coordinator or duties delegated by Registered Staff Members
- Assist in providing activation, companionship and social interaction for residents in the absence of Activity
- Document care provided, changes in a resident, incidents involving the resident(s) and any concerns a resident has reported
- Contribute to the development of the resident’s plan of care and update care plans when necessary or when changes in a resident’s condition occurs
- Handle complaints within the scope of the role
- Participate in the home’s mandatory training programs, quality improvement initiatives and any staff development
**Opportunity for Advancement: Opportunity to be trained as a UCP for those who have a nusring background.**
**Job Requirements**
- Personal Support Worker certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent**:Foreign Trained Nurses, Nursing Students and DSW's welcome to apply.**
- First aid and CPR certificate
- Current Police Clearance - Vulnerable Screening
- Current TB Screening
- Dementia Care Training not a requirement however recommended
- **Proof of fully vaccinated with an approved COVID vaccine required**
**Physical Requirements**
- Should be fit to be able to provide/assist residents with activities of daily living who may have limited functional ability.
- Should be fit to assist residents with lifts and transfers
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour
