**Family Law - Legal Assistant**

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Communicating frequently with clients regarding potential changes to files, court proceedings or practices;
- Organizing and maintaining daily schedule and operations of lawyer(s) to whom they report to, communicating and meeting filing deadlines;
- Utilizing various Microsoft Office and process servers to schedule various appointments, questionings, or meetings, organize calendar events, and correctly arranging for service/filing of court documents;
- Performing administrative duties, including; opening/closing files, filing paper and electronic documents, entering dockets, preparation of accounts, billing, arranging of couriers, faxing, preparing and drafting correspondence under supervision of lawyer;
- Assisting other lawyers within the practice group when necessary;
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications;**
- Post-Secondary Law Clerk diploma is required;
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a Legal Assistant/Law Clerk, more work experience is an asset;
- Highly organized with attention to detail who can prioritize workloads and meet deadlines;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Independent with ability to thrive in high-volume, fast paced environments however, can work and contribute to a team setting;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
