Vancouver, Canada My Island Cafe Full time

We are looking for a Barista (preferably long term) to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea.

Barista responsibilities include communicating with customers, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. Also, you will be preparing and serving food like pastries, muffins, cookies, and sandwiches. Note: this position’s compensation includes salary and tips.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare beverages following recipes
- Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries, muffins, and sandwiches
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Keep the bar area clean
- Maintain inventory of food and beverages
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Requirements and skills
- Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress (optional)
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipments
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Excellent communication skills
- High school diploma; relevant training is a plus

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
