**Join Our Team as a Safe at Home, Outreach Worker and Make a Real Difference**

The Safe at Home Program is a client-centered initiative offering short-term support to individuals exhibiting unhealthy and abusive behaviours. Utilizing one-on-one sessions, group sessions, and a cool-down option, it serves as an alternative for families experiencing domestic violence and abuse. The program's aim is to help participants take responsibility for their actions. The Outreach Worker facilitates this by providing tailored programming that encourages change, addresses concerning behaviours and the impact of anger, ultimately enabling clients to function more healthily through emotional support, accountability plans, goal setting, and resource referrals.

Rowan House Society provides crisis intervention and preventative education to support individuals affected by domestic violence and abuse. We serve a large geographic area in Southern Alberta, including Foothills County, Vulcan County, and MD of Willow Creek.

**What You Will Do**:
As an integral member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
**Client Engagement and Support**:

- Reviewing program referrals and providing potential clients with comprehensive information about the Safe at Home program and their options.
- Establishing and maintaining a client caseload, thoughtfully balancing direct client interaction with essential indirect service hours.
- Maintaining a calm and composed manner in unpredictable situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to respond effectively.
- Providing individualized case management, delivering crucial educational information, and collaboratively developing accountability plans centered on ensuring the safety of families.
- Skillfully navigating clients through available information and connecting them with vital community resources through both individual and group facilitation.
- Completing all necessary program documentation with accuracy and care, including intake forms, consent agreements, critical incident reports, and discharge summaries.
- Administering and collecting client feedback surveys to ensure continuous program improvement.

**Community Building and Professional Development**:

- Actively developing and nurturing community partnerships through engaging presentations and participation in relevant committee work.
- Staying informed about the latest research and best practices in domestic violence and abuse, crisis intervention, and Rowan House Society's strategic outcomes.

**Safety and Risk Management**:

- Conducting thorough risk assessments and ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Analyzing situations with a focus on safety and developing robust safety plans that prioritize the well-being of clients and others.
- **Organizational Contribution**:

- Actively participating in staff meetings, touch base meetings, retreats, in-services, and other professional development initiatives.
- Working collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating positivity, professionalism, and approachability.
- Demonstrating the ability to work independently, effectively manage your time and schedule, and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple workflows.
- Embracing innovation and creativity to enhance current program processes.

- Performing other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

**What You Bring**:
To excel in this impactful role, you will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

- A Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, or relevant experience will also be considered. (Proof of Education will be requested)
- A minimum of two years of related experience working in the community in an outreach capacity or at least three years of direct experience working with individuals who have expressed concerns about their unhealthy and abusive behaviours.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-informed practices and a strong alignment with the values of Rowan House Society.
- A solid understanding of the specific support needs of individuals and families in rural communities.
- Exceptional presentation and group facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze risk and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- A proactive and innovative approach to enhancing existing processes.

**Required Certificates (Conditions of Employment)**:

- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Registration with an associated professional body (if appli
