Extrusion Technician

**Who are you?**

We’re looking for an Extrusion Technician who is excited about providing technical assistance and support needed to operate the machinery that makes our raw materials. We’re looking for someone who wants to solve problems, is a team player and wants to work in a fast moving manufacturing environment.

**What can you expect from this role?**

As an Extrusion Technician, you’ll be reporting to the plant/facility manager, working closely with a team of three other technicians to keep our production line on 24/7. You will set up, operate, troubleshoot and clean all extrusion manufacturing equipment as indicated by specialized standards. You'll operate extruders, be responsible for material handling, including weighting and staging of raw materials and packaging, sampling and performing in-process testing, complete and maintain department paperwork, keep a clean/organized work area free of all foreign debris.

**Responsibilities**:

- Sets up, runs, and adjusts extrusion equipment per specialized standards on multiple pieces of machinery and/or processes
- Set up and operate extrusion equipment to produce plastic and fiber products according to specifications
- Performs quality checks and examines product for defects and size variations
- Fills out production documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems as needed
- Take action to ensure quality limits and efficiency targets are met.
- Performs total machine clean up
- Works independently with little supervision

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2-4 years related experience in extrusion of plastics processing industry desired
- Technical training related to industrial maintenance of production equipment
- Communicate effectively (both verbally and written) english & french
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, both alone as part of a team.
- Must be flexible in regard to manufacturing environment work schedules (weekends, overnights, 12-hr shifts).
