As a Junior Field Aquatics Biologist, you will provide technical support on the aquatic biology and water resource permitting components of our challenging natural resource projects, work with a team of biologists. Based in western Canada, this position may have the opportunity to be fulltime based on workload or will start as a 6 to 9-month contract position with the possibility of extension or transfer into full-time. This position will be primarily field based with occasional office work. You’ll have the opportunity the chance to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams to contribute to the environmental planning and permitting and efforts of government and privately-owned infrastructure projects throughout Canada. You will provide technical support in the field and have the opportunity to support the execution of the work including data collection efforts and daily reporting. By joining Jacobs, you’ll commit to supporting and engaging with these teams, as we work to build a company like no other. **Here’s What You’ll Need**: - B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in fish or aquatic-related studies with relevant experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience (1-3 years of directly relevant experience conducting and managing aquatic studies). - Previous experience conducting field work in remote settings. - Knowledge and understanding of fisheries and aquatic environmental assessment methods, as well as mitigation measures to maintain the aquatic habitat. - Physical ability to work safely and be comfortable in and around fast-flowing and deep water systems. - Must have driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
