If you are customer focused, dedicated, and enjoy serving your community then this job is for you. Society of Saint Vincent de Paul provides community care in many aspects to the community and operates two Non-profit Thrift Stores, one on Elias Street and the other one York Street
- both on bus routes. We need a permanent full-time **Warehouse Worker and occasional Assistant Truck Helper.**

The Receiver is responsible to maintain the warehouse by organizing and planning for all donated furniture and housewares. This is a position that calls for a self-directed person. You will be working independently for the most part. You must be able to manage an abundance of donations with strategic thinking and planning. Receiving donations in bulk is very different than receiving items from a supplier. Safety and being able to organize is key for success in this position. Must be physically fit and be able to lift up to 50lbs. You must be a self-starter and able to work independently and at times this means working past your scheduled shift to serve our customers and support your team members. On occasion you will assist the lead driver with the pick-up and delivery of furniture in the field. **Accountability**:
The Receiver will follow the direction of the Stores Manager/designate and will discuss problems related to the job and participate in problem solving.

**Responsibilities of the role**:

- Focus on customer service internal and external
- Team focused and solution oriented
- Daily maintain cleanliness of property and ensure no safety violations exist
- Maintain /organize warehouse focusing on details
- Oversee the acceptance and sorting of all donations received
- Sorting of housewares and planning for daily donations
- Able to give direction and guidance to volunteers that assist in the warehouse
- Always maintain warehouse safety
- Daily re-merchandising of furniture on the sales floor
- Follow schedules and meet deadlines
- Answer’s phone and assist with customers on the sales floor when needed
- Report daily any serious concerns or issues to the manager
- Assist the cashier and sales rep whenever necessary
- Act of replacement truck driver helper when required
- Be knowledgeable of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Adhere to policies and procedures set by management with the approval of the Store Committee
- Perform other duties as assigned and assist the store manager as directed and as required

**Role requirements**:

- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Safety shoes/boots must be worn at all times while working
- Acceptance of a flexible work schedule that will include Saturdays
- Ability to speak and read English Ability to work under pressure and deal with difficult customers and circumstances
- Must be open to completing a police check

Pay: $19.50 per hour
