Are you interested in working for a fast-paced restaurant with great hours and great people? Look no further Victoria Pub Company is hiring for a Host position for the Penny Farthing pub in Oak Bay. DEPARTMENT: Front of House REPORTS TO: General Manager/Floor Managers **Position Purpose**: - As the very first touchpoint for customers at a restaurant, the host's duties would be to provide warm, friendly greetings to the customers as they walk through the door. - Hosts are responsible for setting the "flow" of the restaurant by greeting and guiding guests and ensuring a welcoming experience for everyone. - Hosts are responsible for engaging with guests, answering telephones, taking reservations, making phone calls, etc. - Clearing and sanitizing tables as needed, helping out the servers and bartenders. - Planning and organizing the seating for the evenings - Other duties as needed **Qualification requirements and Job Function**: - Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language - Work or school equivalent experience in hospitality and customer service - Ability to multi-task - Ability to work collaboratively and independently - Upbeat and personable demeanor - Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment - Following health and safety guidelines as directed by the managers - General understanding of the restaurant, pub, and hospitality industry - A good working knowledge of current applicable liquor laws - Punctual, reliable and professional - Encourage and uphold a safe work environment while adhering to company policy around bullying and harassment **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time **Salary**: $15.65 per hour Additional pay: - Overtime pay - Tips **Benefits**: - Discounted or free food - Employee assistance program - Store discount Schedule: - Day shift - Evening shift - Holidays COVID-19 considerations: All employees are required to be fully vaccinated. **Experience**: - customer service: 1 year (preferred)
