With many exciting projects across Vancouver Island, Tycon Steel is actively looking for multiskilled and experienced Journeymen/Reinforcing Ironworkers.

Fieldworkers or Rodman are the onsite personnel responsible for the installation of rebar at a customer site.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Position and secure rebar on commercial, residential and infrastructure projects
- Identify the different sizes, lengths and bend types
- Determine quantities, sizes and locations of rebar from blueprints, drawings or work orders
- Space and fasten rods to form according to specifications noted on blueprints/drawings
- Perform physical work like packing, tying, cutting rebar with specialty tools
- Must be safety conscious and follow protocols at all times

PRIOR WORK EXPEIRENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans
- A solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques related to reinforcing steel
- Rebar fabricating experience an asset
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
