Team Lead of Supportive Housing

**Compensation**: $26.27-$28.37 per hour
**Status**: Permanent
**Schedule**:10:00am-6:30pm, Sunday-Wednesday and every other Thursday (72 hours bi-weekly)

**Position’s Primary Objectives**:
The Team Lead is a senior Housing Support Worker role that takes on additional responsibilities assisting staff and managers in the delivery of programming and services to tenants of Pacifica Housing’s Supportive Housing programs.
As well as carrying out the duties of a Housing Support Worker when required, the Supportive Housing Team Lead (Victoria) is accountable for contributing to the successful and efficient operation of one or more Supportive Housing sites by:

- providing specialized support to Supportive Housing (SH) staff in the delivery of programs and services to tenants;
- providing operational assistance to the Manager of Supportive Housing; and
- assisting in all aspects of tenancy coordination in conjunction with SH Tenant Service Coordinator (TSC).

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Providing specialized support to Supportive Housing staff in the delivery of programs and services to tenants by:

- providing senior-level support to the team including the resolution of difficult/complex tenant relations issues, debriefing of critical incidents and case management consultation;
- assisting, as needed, in scheduling staff, managing absences and coverage, and resolving related issues;
- attending tenant planning meetings in community (i.e. hospital) and advocating for appropriate services upon discharge;
- coordinating and assisting the team in the creation and maintenance of tenant programs that encourage personal growth and help develop life skills;
- participating in direct service delivery and case management activities including maintaining case notes and reports;
- providing limited transportation to tenants for off-site appointments such as medical, psychiatric, and counseling;
- maintain relationship and ongoing communication with police liaisons;
- assisting with the food access program; and
- co-ordinating the harm reduction supplies program.

2. Providing operational assistance to the Manager of Supportive Housing, including:

- preparing and providing regular reports and statistics regarding critical incidents, program developments, operational issues and program evaluations;
- participating in the selection of new team members, as requested, as well as supporting with interviewing, orientation and training;
- assisting with the development of protocols, policies, procedures and grant proposals;
- supporting student practicum and/or volunteer placements;
- assisting in fundraising, public relations campaigns, workshops and special events and projects; and
- participating, as required, in related community-based meetings, committees and groups regarding supportive housing.

3. Assisting in all aspects of tenancy coordination in conjunction with SH Tenant Service Coordinator (TSC)
- coordinating all move-in & move-out procedures with SH TSC and Housing Support Workers (HSWs)
- informing site staff of move-ins
- overseeing completion of new tenant orientation by HSWs
- coordinating unit move in/out maintenance with appropriate Pacifica staff
- providing current tenancy status information to SH TSC for the maintenance of related databases and tenant unit files;
- meeting with potential tenants to discuss SH site
- supporting SH TSC with new tenant sign-up procedures;
- supporting SH TSC with notices of eviction; and
- assisting SH TSC that all financial arrangements (prorated rent, security deposits etc.) for new tenants are made prior to occupancy.

**Requirements**:
**Education**:

- A degree in a related human/social service field
- Conflict resolution/crisis prevention training and experience

**Experience**:

- Minimum of three (3) years’ recent experience, including one (1) year supervisory experience in the non-profit housing or related social service field
- Demonstrated experience working with populations impacted by homelessness, addictions, mental health issues and/or other barriers to stable housing

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong working knowledge of ‘Housing First’ harm reduction and client-centred theory and practice
- Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
- Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of addiction, mental health, homelessness and poverty
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals who have multiple barr
