we are seeking a **MENTAL HEALTH WORKER** to join our team
**ABOUT THE POSITION**: The** Mental Health Worker,** a position supported by the**Calgary Police Youth Foundation Integrated School Support Program (ISSP),will provide one-on-one support to students and/or engage in targeted groups: this involves a process of engagement, data collection and general assessment for case planning, intervention, evaluation, and program design. Within this process this position focus on providing emotional support regarding current and/or specific problems in the emotional and social/relationship domain, as well as providing information and advice, and supporting skill building regarding the self-regulation of feelings and behaviors, positive well-being and healthy living, healthy relationships, stress management, problem solving and decision making, crisis management, and conflict resolution. In this role, will need to complete ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), support abuse disclosures, and complete VTRA (Violence Threat Risk Assessment) training.
**ABOUT THE PROGRAM**:This position is a part of the Calgary Police Youth Foundation Integrated School Support Program (ISSP). The ISSP's objective is to provide the necessary wraparound school supports that are essential to address a variety child wellness initiatives in diverse schools and communities. These initiatives are delivered through multi disciplinary teams that are comprised of essential contributors to provide a positive police presence, on-site professional Mental Health support, physical education, nutrition programs, and after-school programs. The combination of these essential elements ensures that children who may be facing access barriers have a safe, healthy school experience where they are able to focus on their learning, unburdened by other concerns. With this support pre k to grade 6 students will have access to support and interventions to improve academic performance and their social, emotional, and physical well-being far beyond their elementary years.
