This position's primary responsibility is prepping various makes and models of excavator cabs for bodywork and paint. From time to time this position will also prep some heavy equipment parts, such as loaders and excavator booms. This position is full-time.

Work hours are between Mon - Fri 7:00am - 3:30 pm.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Cleaning, masking, and sanding of excavator cabs, components, and parts
- Repairing general damage, including cracks and dents on excavator cabs and heavy equipment.
- Performs quality repairs without passing on defects.
- Approaches repair planning with a sense of urgency and detail to avoid waste and rework later.
- Assists painter(s) and body man in daily tasks.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Preference given to applicants with experience operating forklifts and skid steers
- Technical training in automotive servicing, refinishing, or collision repair is an asset
- Attention to detail with good prep skills.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to listen to direction, be hands on, positive, and take charge on job duties
- Knowledge of taking things apart and putting together or previous assembly experience is helpful
- Problem solving, decision making, job task planning skills are a must

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT**

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds and up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to moderate to loud noise environments and will be required to operate various heavy equipment, such as forklifts.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Maple Ridge, BC V2W 0J2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Automotive Body Repair & Refinishing Occupations: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Red Seal license (preferred)
