Outside Services Team Member

**THE ROLE**:
The Outside Services position is responsible for maintaining and improving the look of the campground and its facilities, and to work as part of a team to provide the best possible camping experience for our guests.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Create a welcoming environment for our guests.
- Maintaining and cleaning camping sites and campground amenities on a daily routine basis.
- Cutting and maintaining the campground lawn and green spaces.
- Manicure and pruning of trees and shrubs.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of the campground’s buildings and utilities.
- Operation of light mowing equipment and small hand power tools. Any previous experience is an asset.
- Cleaning washrooms and site facilities as needed.
- Light construction work.
- Be knowledgeable of campground property, amenities, and area attractions.
- Be knowledgeable or be willing to learn in all aspects of landscaping and maintenance.
- Strive to increase the level of guest satisfaction by delivery of an improved product through employee/guest interaction and quality image.
- Respond quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner and ensure appropriate action is taken. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Always demonstrating a professional image through appearance and adhering to our uniform standards.
- Other duties as assigned.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Able to perform all tasks with a positive attitude.
- The ability to perform manual labour and lift 40 lbs to shoulder height.
- Willing and prepared to work in all types of weather and environmental conditions.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to proactively engage our guests with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work the prescribed weekend shifts.

**HOURS OF WORK**
- Hours of work depend on daylight, weather and shift status. Through the summer, shifts will normally begin at 8:30 AM with a 30-minute paid lunch break. There are no coffee breaks and lunch are expected to be 30 minutes long. Shifts end at 4:30 PM.
- Outside Operations team members will work an average of 36 to 44 hours a week. Our crew schedule is 10 days on and four days off. Weekend shifts are four hours long.
- This is a seasonal position running from April 1 until October 31 for seasonal staff and from April 1 until September 1 for student positions.

**UNIFORMS**
- Staff uniforms will consist of 3 shirts, 1 hoodie, 1 jacket, and 1 hat.
- Steel toe boots or shoes will be provided by employees.

**OTHER ITEMS**
- Our goals is to interact and talk with our guests. We discourage our team from carrying their cell phones will working. If you need constant connection to your cell phone, this may not be the job for you.
- Smoking or Vaping in the guest areas and campground area is prohibited.
- Any job specific items such as earplugs, safety glasses, etc. will be supplied by BRECS.

**IMPORTANT DATES**
- May Long weekend - May 17 - 19
- July Long weekend - June 28 - July 1
- Calgary Stampede - July 4 - July 13
- September Long weekend - August 30 - September 1
- **Please try to avoid taking time off during these periods.**

- Operations Manager

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 4-7 months

Expected hours: 20.00 per week
