These types of people thrive because they are resourceful and can seek out information on their own to make informed decisions. **Duties/Responsibilities** - Operate crane to lift, move or place construction equipment and materials - Follow safe work procedures to assist the tower crane operator with lifting, lowering, or moving materials and loads. - Understand lifting and load bearing capacities of the tower crane. - Securing loads with suitable lifting equipment. - Communicate with operator via two-way radio and/or hand signals. - Signal and direct trucks on site for loading and offloading. - Inspecting rigging equipment. - Rig in decks and fly tables. - Inspect crane and calculate capacities - Fly tables - Assemble and dismantle - Perform repairs and maintenance **Working Conditions** - Overtime after 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week - Double time after 12 hours per day - Overtime and work on weekends as required - Two paid 15 minutes breaks and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day - Working at heights **Competencies** - Ability to work well in a team and independently - Positive attitude towards safety - Punctual and reliable - Self-motivated - Manual dexterity, mechanically inclined, physically fit **Requirements**: - 3-6 years experience operating tower cranes - 2-4 years of tower crane rigging experience - Journeyman Tower Crane Operator Certificate or provincial equivalent - Rigging ticket considered an asset - Fall Protection - ** Applications will only be considered from those eligible to work in Canada** tpCURUBtdS
