The FSR develops and maintains professional relationships with members and ensures member satisfaction. They are responsible for providing all financial services to members as required and ensuring they receive the highest quality service. The FSR will build strong rapport with members through servicing their lending needs, providing financial advice and recommending financial products based on needs of the individual members.

In addition, this role will be responsible for meeting and exceeding specific individual goals and contributing towards team-based business results. This role is expected to proactively engage in revenue generating and sales-based activities, as well as foster and deepen member relationships.

HOURS OF WORK

The standard scheduled hours of work for the branches are Monday to Friday 8:30 - 4:15. Due to deadlines and time constraints, the hours of work may extend beyond the normal work week. There can be numerous and varied responsibilities which require constant prioritizing to ensure that all branch duties are completed efficiently, accurately and on a timely basis. It is a requirement of this position to be able to perform well under pressure from many situations while working towards meeting the agreed upon goals within the set timeframes.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Retail Lending Services
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with members. Hold an assigned branch portfolio, identify and pursue opportunities through existing portfolio or referrals. Develop business through actively promoting and selling consumer loan products including loans, lines of credit, mortgage, HELOCs, overdrafts and related insurance products.
- Conduct interviews with members to identify personal lending needs; collect and analyze financial information, assess credit worthiness, approve credit within discretionary limits and/or makes recommendations for approvals/declines.
- Complete lending documentation per policy requirement
- Perform loan administration such as maintaining files, processing, disbursing, preparing and delivering correspondence pertaining to loans.
- Support the achievement of branch sales targets and marketing plans.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of credit union lending, products and relevant policies and legislation.
- Review delinquent accounts: analyze status and initiate action to collect on delinquent loans; escalate to head office when appropriate.
- Conduct all lending related reporting in branch.

B. Branch Administration
- Perform estates administration.
- Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, including risk management audit.
- Produce various reports upon managements request.

C. Commercial Lending Services
- Open small business commercial accounts.
- Identify referral opportunities for lending requirements of small businesses such as non-profit and sole proprietor commercial accounts.

E. Other
- Adhere to the organizational risk policies to protect the interests of the members and minimize operational risk.
- Actively participate in branch and credit union meetings.
- Participate in community activities that enhance the credit unions image.
- Adhere to security procedures as they pertain to the position.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

A. Knowledge:

- Relevant College or University degree
- 2 - 3 years of member service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years previous lending experience, credit underwriting, mathematical calculations on ratios and amortization schedules is considered an asset
- Completion of lending accreditation considered an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of financial analysis and cash-flow review
- Knowledge of credit union policies and procedures relating to banking requirements.
- A commitment to learning and development is required.

B. Core role competencies:

- Strong member relationship and sales skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent working knowledge of the features and benefits of credit union products and services
- Strong knowledge of banking system
