Valbruna ASW Inc. is a premier specialty steel-making facility located in Welland, ON and has an immediate requirement for **Production/Steel Worker.**

Reporting to the Melt Shop Supervisor, the Production/Steel Worker’s **duties and** **responsibilities **includes some of the following:

- Assembles/disassembles the bottom pour setup.
- Strips ingots when necessary.
- Maintains adequate supply of alloys and operating supplies.
- Shovels, weighs, and adds alloys to molten steel.
- Assists in all phases of furnace operation.
- Takes temperatures and collects samples from molten steel.
- Operates a variety of shop equipment including Forklift and Overhead Cab Cranes.
- Wears the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Performs general housekeeping duties and maintains a clean work area.
- Follows work instructions and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
- Completes all other duties that are assigned.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Demonstrate the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- At least three years of steel manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, primarily night shifts, as well as overtime as required and to work in a fast-paced, lean environment where adaptability, innovation and hard work are valued above all else.
- Reliable, dedicated, and trustworthy.
- Proven ability to learn new things and be flexible in response to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to take initiative and to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong safety track record and demonstrated willingness to participate in workplace safety and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- This position pays $23.71 per hour and a shift premium is paid to employees working the afternoon shift ($0.35) and ($0.55) working the night shift.
