**L2 Security Analyst JOB DESCRIPTION**
A leading Western Canada wide provider of comprehensive networking solutions, is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team
As a Security Analyst (L1/L2), you will be at the forefront of our cybersecurity efforts, playing a crucial role in protecting all client companies and their clients from cyber threats. You are passionate about cybersecurity, you stay up to date with the latest security trends, technologies, standards, and threats, you have a problem-solving mindset, and you work well under pressure.
**Responsibilities**:
- Attend and complete any mandated Company training i.e: Processes, Platforms, etc.
- Attend Weekly Metrics meetings with your direct manager.
- Submit weekly timesheets, ensuring they are submitted by 5pm on Friday. (Barring weekend work where needed)
- Act as the Tier1/Tier2 Security technical resource within the Security department
- Act as first line response for Security Incidents at all times. You will be the first line of response for Security Incidents.
- Maintain ongoing Security training at a regimen of 5 hours per week (1 hour a day) to maintain up to date Security knowledge.
- Respond to Security escalations within appropriate SLO’s.
- Actioning Security project tasks within the expected scope when assigned
- Writing procedure documentation for Security processes we are responsible for internally and for our clients.
- Participate in incident response activities, including creating and maintaining incident response plans, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely resolution of security incidents.
- Act as an escalation point within Security if the Cybersecurity manager is not present.
- Monitor and analyze security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint detection software, to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
- Participate in post-mortem discoveries and discussions.
- Collaborate with the IT department to design and implement secure network architectures, data encryption, and access control mechanisms to safeguard sensitive data and systems.
- Act as Secondary on various Security Manager responsibilities in case there is an outage
Key Metrics
- Achieve 6 hours billable per day.
- Help to keep the Security/SOC boards under 100 tickets through ticket remediation.
- Time to invoke incident response plans, speed of initial response
- Incident remediation time, efficiency and effectiveness of incident management
- CSAT ratings remain above 95%
- Maintain high satisfaction ratings internally both within and outside of the Security department
- Creating, updating or testing documentation written for other departments use to ensure they remain up to date and functional when in use by Project implementors, Service Desk etc.
- Available as Security liaison for Service Desk, responding to general inquiries which can prevent timely resolution of tickets
**Skills Needed / Qualifications**
- Security+ Cyber Certificate recommended
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) optional but good to have
- CISSP beneficial but optional
- Deep familiarity with MDR platforms and methodologies, endpoint protection tooling
- Understanding of base cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, Sharepoint on a security diagnostic level
- Strong knowledge of networking (routing, switching, firewalls)
- Backup and disaster recovery solution familiarity
- Familiarity with scripting (powershell, python, bash)
**Must be located in Winnipeg, Manitoba for this position.**
