The Assistant Director of Pedagogical Services

**NATURE OF THE WORK**:
The Pedagogical Consultant will be responsible for providing advice and support to staff of educational institutions and services in the implementation, development and evaluation of programs of study, class management and instructional materials. In addition, you will be required to:

- Plan and provide in-classroom coaching and learning opportunities for teachers, particularly in the area of ELA and CCQ.
- Organize and animate training sessions and workshops, particularly in ELA and CCQ.
- Suggest and demonstrate differentiated instructional strategies to help teachers strive for successful outcomes for all students.
- In collaboration with other consultants, plan and provide support to teachers for students who experience difficulty in learning, particularly in the area of ELA and CCQ.
- In collaboration with other consultants, assist teachers in making appropriate use of technology in their instruction and evaluation.
- Assist teachers in the identification and/or development of instructional materials to support literacy instruction.
- Assist teachers in evaluation practices, data collection techniques, analysis of results, and adjustment of classroom practices, where required.
- Participate in the development and implementation of objectives and strategies aligned with the school board’s Commitment to Success Plan
- Provide general pedagogical support to any assigned school, particularly in the support of Professional Learning Communities.
- Fulfil other duties as defined by the Director of Pedagogical Services.

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree;
- A permanent teaching diploma (brevet d’enseignement) issued by the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec (MEQ);
- A specialization in ELA and/or CCQ;
- A mastery of the English language and the ability to function effectively in French;
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience;
- A sound understanding of education reform in general and the Québec Education Program in particular;
- A valid driver’s licence.
