iGaming Ontario is seeking a Manager, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Risk to ensure compliance with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (‘PCMLTFA’) and expectations of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (‘FINTRAC’) for AML risk monitoring.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Anti-Money Laundering you will:
- Lead the ongoing maintenance of the enterprise AML risk assessment methodology procedural and guidance documentation.
- Manage the build, implementation and maintenance of AML/ATF Risk Assessments.
- Maintain awareness of AML and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) regulatory expectations and global industry standards with respect to AML/ATF risk identification and assessment and to identify developments and trends that may have an impact on risk assessment methodologies.
- Ensure that AML project-specific and/or ongoing data collection needs are identified and built into project delivery, while working closely with the senior management and information technology experts to ensure technical needs are assessed and verified.
- Provide recommendations, insight, and best practices on AML/ATF requirements and risk assessment guidelines to senior level management.
- Collaborate with other team members to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in relation to the AML program.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and engagement between the iGaming Ontario AML Unit and the igaming operators with a focus on building strong operational relationships that ensure the operator’s and iGaming Ontario comply with AML regulatory requirements.
- Lead the AML risk team in staying actively abreast of regulatory expectations and global industry standards with respect to risk and gaming.
- Ensure employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities within the AML program.
- Establish performance plans for staff, evaluate performance and identify areas requiring improvement and training.
- Manage staff and team members through ongoing feedback, direction and coaching.
- A bachelor's degree in law, finance, criminology, business administration, statistics, audit, etc. combined with 5+ years of related management experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Expert knowledge of the federal PCMLTFA and associated regulations, and FINTRAC’s expectations as it relates to business relationship monitoring and AML risk management.
- Knowledge of how money laundering techniques can be used in the gaming industry.
- Knowledge of government (e.g., FINTRAC, AGCO) and crown agency reporting relationships and accountabilities.
- Familiarity with the gaming industry, including knowledge of casino gambling and sports wagering is an asset.
- Superior knowledge and demonstrated experience in the use of computer databases/programs and office technologies (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Excellent organizational skills to coordinate and ensure priorities are established and deadlines are met.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective service delivery and to develop and maintain productive team and peer relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership together with a strong work ethic necessary to succeed in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and critically.
- ACAMS designation is an asset.
