**Summary**

We are seeking an Early Childhood Supervisor to lead our dedicated team at Creating Futures Daycare in the Bayside community. This role is crucial in fostering a nurturing environment for children and supporting our mission of providing exceptional care to families.

**Responsibilities**

1) The Director is responsible for ensuring that all relevant legislative requirements are met:

- Alberta Children and family services
- Daycare licensing
- Public Health Department
- Food Handling Permit
- Fire Department
- Municipal by-laws
- Human rights code
- Occupational health and safety act
- Labour relation/employment standards
- Freedom of Information and Privacy Act
- Creating Futures Daycare policies and procedures

2)The Director is responsible equipping the daycare with all the necessary supplies and equipment such as:

- Children’s toys
- Office equipment
- Cleaning supplies
- Large furnishings
- Arts and crafts

3)The Director is responsible for on-going maintenance of staff:

- Ensure site-staffing requirements are met at all times (holidays, absences, lunch coverage, etc.)
- Assist the staff in daily duties when necessary
- Ensure high standards of staff performance are met
- Develop staff schedule
- Plan and implement regular staff meetings
- Promote team work and high staff morale
- Promote effective guidance strategies for staff and children
- Coordinate substitute staff
- Offer and utilize outside resources for staff development
- Provide a positive leadership model
- Ensure staff are meeting curriculum goals
- Offer positive guidance and support
- Will execute in-house professional developments provided by owner for learning new strategies and resources for working with all types of children and their needs
- Provide opportunities for program development
- Annual educator evaluations
- Provides on-going, constructive feedback to staff
- Orientating new staff

4) The Director is responsible for meeting the families needs:

- To have on-going interaction and involvement with the families
- Preparation of newsletters, bulletins
- Support guidance and referral for parents
- Provide parents with any and all relevant information
- Address parent concerns
- Promote parent involvement
- Offer tours of the site

5) The Director is responsible for maintaining and promoting professionalism
- Constant and clear communication with management staff
- Ensure everyone is following the centres policies and procedure are followed
- Maintain confidentiality of staff, children and their families
- Promote health and wellness of staff

6) The Director is responsible for maintaining positive community relations:

- Act as a liaison, when needed, between the centre and community agencies
- Attend outside meetings and committees
- Access the changing needs of the community

7) The Director is responsible for maintaining enrollment:

- Promote the centre
- Maintain records of children’s birthdays, admission, withdrawal and waiting lists
- Open communication with families

8) The Director is responsible for administrative duties such as:

- Ensure the centre’s philosophy is reflected in the daily program
- Delegate tasks and responsibility effectively
- Assist in reviewing staff hours for the purposes of payroll

**Qualifications**
- Must have a Level 2 or 3 Certificate as designated by Alberta Staff Qualifications
- Must have minimum 5 years experience in the Early Childhood Education field
- Early Childhood Education Administration and Supervisor program an asset and or willingness to take
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid updated every 3 years

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $56,000.00-$77,000.00 per year
