**Job Summary**
The Saskatchewan Association of Watersheds (SAW) is a non-profit, environmental organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of Saskatchewan’s watersheds.
SAW is seeking to hire two Environmental Technicians to join our team in Moose Jaw.
These positions offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment with a focus on environmental protection and restoration.
**Responsibilities**
- Working with SAW staff to support the implementation of an Aquatic Species at Risk assessment and enhancement program in Saskatchewan (near Consul, SK) and the Qu’Appelle River system (near Crooked Lake)
- Implementing shoreline enhancement and restoration projects by planting native tree/shrub species to restore or enhance riparian areas and improve habitat.
- Assisting the project manager in planning, designing, preparing, and implementing a spawning riffle in the Milk River Watershed.
- Engaging with stakeholders including landowners and digenous communities to build and maintain relationships for the purpose of species at risk education, site access, and enhancement project implementation.
- Increasing the publics knowledge and awareness about Plains Minnow, Plains Sucker and Big Mouth Buffalo stewardship practices to improve sustainability.
- Collaborating with provincial (Ministry of Environment, Water Security Agency) and Federal (Fisheries and Oceans Canada)
- Also aid in the delivery of multiple SAW programs and projects. Duties include, but not limited to, administration duties (spreadsheet development, answering the phone, tracking program deliverables, water quality sampling, shoreline restoration work, research reviews.
**Skills**
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically about environmental issues.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness in assessments and reports.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices is a plus.
