As we continue to grow, we're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated **Junior Estimator** to join our team.
**About the Role**
This is an entry-level position ideal for a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years of experience in estimating, cost analysis, or data administration within a manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with sales, procurement, and production teams to support cost estimation, new product setup, and pricing analysis.
This role is accountable for delivering timely and accurate support in cost estimating and item code creation. Success in this position will be measured against defined KPIs, including turnaround time for completed pricing requests (typically within 24-72 hours), new item code creation (within a 24-hour window), and the completion of more involved cost analysis projects by deadlines set by management. The Junior Estimator will be expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, responsiveness, and organization while supporting cross-functional teams
**Key Responsibilities**
**Estimation & Cost Analysis (70%)**
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) including raw materials, hardware, and labor.
- Estimate item costs using supplier quotes and internal benchmarks.
- Respond to pricing inquiries and support internal teams with cost-based pricing recommendations.
**New Item Code Creation & Data Entry (30%)**
- Assign structured item numbers in line with internal conventions.
- Input and track new product data, versions, and cost information.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in the product database.
**Cross Functional Collaboration & Support**
- Liaise with Sales, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure alignment of item specs and costs.
- Assist Finance and Customer Service in quote-to-order workflows and contract pricing.
- Maintain clean documentation for pricing history and margin approvals.
**Data Management & Process Improvement**
- Organize and maintain an up-to-date costed item database.
- Contribute to improving templates, costing tools, and estimating procedures.
*Any other tasks that may be delegated by supervisor
**Qualifications**
- 1-2 years of experience in estimating, pricing, or data administration (preferably in manufacturing or distribution).
- College diploma or higher in a related field (engineering, business, supply chain, etc.).
- Intermediate proficiency in **Microsoft Excel** (formulas, data entry, lookups).
- ERP experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing large volumes of data.
- Effective communicator with excellent organizational skills.
- Bilingual (French/English) preferred, but English-only applicants will be considered.
