**Position title: Withdrawal** **Management Support Worker (Nights).**

Permanent Part TimeAlternating Overnight Awake Weekend Position (Bi-weekly).

Hours:
**Friday: 11pm - 7am**

**Saturday: 11pm - 7am**

**Sunday: 11pm - 7am**

**Job Summary**:
The role of the **Withdrawal** **Management Support Worker (Nights) **is to provide the necessary support and service to youth within the SYD Detox Component and provide residential support (house chores and maintenance) to the SYD program.

**Job Skill and Abilities**:
Self-motivated, takes initiative, demonstrated time management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated team/leadership skills, and willingness to complete daily chores and cooking. A large part of the night position is to ensure the smooth running of the SYD program by completing majority of the food prep, house chores, and other tasks on a nightly basis**. ** Staff must be willing to work with youth that may have physical and mental health issues. Staff is required to administer medications to youth.

**Experience**:
A minimum of 6 months experience is preferred, which includes:

- Knowledge and experience with high-risk youth and their families.
- Experience working with high-risk youth and families in helping capacity.
- Experience with community-based programs and related community support systems.

**Knowledge**:

- Basic understanding of child/adolescent development and impact of substance use
- Basic understanding of brief and comprehensive assessments, counselling, engagement skills and intervention approaches

**Conditions of employment**:

- Must be 21+ years old
- Must have strong fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Must have clearance from the _Authorization for Criminal Records Search_, prior to commencing employment. The first 6 months of employment constitute a probationary period, at the end of which a performance appraisal is conducted to determine the suitability of the employee for further employment
- Must have a TB Test
- Must have Emergency First Aid and Food Safe certification
- Must have two COVID-19 vaccinations
- Must follow the Code of Ethics, Mission Statement, and Policies and Procedures of The Victoria Youth Empowerment Society and abide by the relevant rules and reporting guidelines as set out by the Ministry for Children and Families and other appropriate governing bodies.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
