Trailer Technician

The Trailer Technician is responsible for the company’s performance in terms of efficient, effective, and timely repairs and maintenance on the Searcy Trucking trailer fleet. The Trailer Technician is expected to be a team player in the Maintenance Department. They must be able to diagnose and repair recurring problems and effectively communicate these to other members of the Maintenance team. Good communication skills and a professional attitude are basic requirements.
1) Trailer Maintenance:
- Involves working safely and performing preventative maintenance on all trailers in the Searcy Trucking fleet. On daily basis, the Trailer Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on trailers, this involves diagnosing problems that are found during these inspections and proscribing the correct remedial action. This also includes preforming scheduled Manitoba Safeties on all trailers.
2) Trailer Repairs:
- Involves performing repairs that are diagnosed during the pre/post trip or quick check inspection and preventative maintenance. On a daily basis, the Trailer Technician is responsible for performing repairs in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
3) Other:
- This will involve shop clean, attending team meetings and performing other miscellaneous repairs on Searcy Trucking equipment and other duties as assigned.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications**
- Must possess a journeyman certificate or equivalent trade knowledge.
- Certification to preform Manitoba Safeties an asset, however not required.
- Must have experience in welding both Aluminum and Steel.
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license, self-motivated, and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge with Haldex Trailer ABS systems and Meritor tire inflation systems considered an asset.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
