**HSE Lead - Northern BC Gold Mine (Contract Position)**
- Join a dynamic team management team at one of British Columbia’s premier mining operations_

**Position**: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Lead

**Location**: Northern British Columbia (gold mine site)

**Rotation**: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

**Travel**: Commercial travel to charter departure locations available

**Schedule**: 12-hour workdays during rotation

**Contract Duration**: Through September 2025

**Start Date**: Immediate

**Compensation**: $60 - $85/hour (based on experience)

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Lead to oversee and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance at a remote gold mine site in Northern BC. This site-based role, supporting a heavy earthworks project, requires hands-on leadership, regulatory compliance expertise, and the ability to build strong working relationships across field teams and management.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead all aspects of HSE implementation and compliance on-site.
- Ensure adherence to mine-specific regulations, WorkSafeBC, and company HSE policies.
- Facilitate risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.
- Coach and mentor field personnel and supervisors on safe work practices.
- Provide guidance and support to the contractor's safety team to help mature and enhance their internal safety systems.
- Navigate and respect the cultural dynamics and business relationship between the owner and the contractor.
- Liaise with client representatives, contractors, and internal teams to foster a positive safety culture.
- Maintain documentation, reporting, and performance metrics.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety leadership role in the mining, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Certification in OHS (CRSP, CHSC, NCSO, or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of BC’s mining safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring or capacity building within a contractor or partner organization is a strong asset.
- Experience with heavy earthworks operations is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote rotational environment.
