**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and lesson plans.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing learning concepts.
- Help prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized, positive learning environment.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and transitions to ensure their safety.
- Support students with special needs and diverse learning abilities as directed by the teacher.
- Assist with the implementation of classroom management strategies and behavior plans.
- Perform light administrative tasks such as organizing student work and maintaining attendance records.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to foster a supportive educational experience.
- Assist students with personal care tasks, including but not limited to, lavatory, clothing, hygiene, diapering, toileting and wash-up routines.
- Planning and maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment and assuring the well-being and safety of the children in their care.
- Willingness to acquire Class 4 drivers license to drive a 15 passenger van

**Qualifications**
- Level 1/Child Development Assistant Certificate
- High school diploma or GED (required); Associate degree or higher in education or a related field (preferred).
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students of varying ages and abilities.
- Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and take initiative when necessary.
- Basic computer literacy (knowledge of Google Classroom, Microsoft Office, etc. is a plus).
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with [insert your institution's] policies.

**Physical Requirements**
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Lift up to 25 lbs when necessary (such as moving classroom materials or assisting students).
