**Position Summary**:
**Reporting to the Manager, Development Systems, the Development Systems Analyst, will be a key contributor NCC’s marketing and development efforts, and the organization’s ability to reach its fundraising and supporter goals.**:
**The Data Analyst will be a key contributor in creating Business Intelligence assets to enable data-driven decision making for stakeholders across the organization. In this role, you will translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements and engage in the end-to-end analytics life cycle involving data collection, data exploration, data cleaning, data synthesis and data presentation.**:
**You will support the development and promotion of BI solutions, data policies, standards, and procedures, and build awareness of methodologies, processes and tools as we work towards becoming an insight-driven organization.**:
**This role requires an enthusiastic, curious, detail-oriented, and proactive thinker and communicator, pushing NCC to strengthen and streamline our reporting and analytics, weaving together best practices and the newest ideas in the field.**:
**Responsibilities**:
**Data analysis and data visualization (50%)**:
- Responsible for building and continuously developing a reporting system (reports, dashboards and KPIs) for the fundraising department, to track results and allow team members to access and visualize the data.
- Generates and analyzes quantitative and qualitative, internal and external data.
- Be able to identify, troubleshoot deviations or data outliers in results and provide follow-up explanations and advice.
- Illustrate data graphically and translate complex findings into easily understandable reports, and presentations.
- Use of data warehouse, SQL reporting services (SSRS), and other BI tools and solutions to deliver enhanced reports.
- Develop insights and visualizations to share with internal and external partners based on current trends in philanthropy.
- Analyse and interpret data and information from a variety of sources in a way that facilitates the proposal of solutions and decision-making.
**Collaboration, strategy and planning (25%)**:
- Collaborate with senior M&D leadership to develop strategic direction and plans
- Work closely with lines of business to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and delivering actionable insights to decision makers.
- Provide necessary support to the team in the development and maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse, data mart and related reporting systems; conduct ETL, data cleansing and standardization activities as needed.
- Train and support fundraising staff in end user report and output for report running and viewing, predicative modelling, dashboards, monitoring, etc.
- Resolve and/or escalate data issues with relevant partners and vendors.
**System development (25%)**:
- Develop and maintain a reporting system to track results and make data available to the M&D Team.
- Evaluate internal systems and processes for efficiencies and inaccuracies; assist in the development and maintenance of protocols for handling, processing, cleaning and optimizing data; ensure business operations are compliant with internal data policies.
- Maintain controls related to the integrity of enterprise data; conduct ongoing data quality reviews, ensure new initiatives meet the standards required to support the business unit objectives.
- Easily able to envision data solutions and reporting structure to answer complex questions as they pertain to fundraising analysis.
- Able to identify efficiencies and updated reporting processes to achieve more efficient outcomes.
