**Activity Worker (School’s Out)**

**Job description**:
Help facilitate prevention programs and services in accordance with best and promising practice. Through the delivery of established Schools Out programming. Works with the clients of the program to help them develop resilience through demonstrating life skills activities, and socio-emotional programming with the support of program staff.

The Schools Out program will be run primarily out of Blundell Elementary School in Richmond.

**Work Hours**:.32 FTE (12 hours per week)

**Reports to**:
School's Out Program Coordinator

**Responsible to**:
Executive Director

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Delivery**

1. Use education tools provided by Richmond Addiction Services Society (RASS) for delivery of school and community programming.

2. Participates in the development of activities by providing input to program coordinator.

3. Deliver the Schools Out curriculum to target populations.

4. Performs limited food preparation as needed.

5. Performs limited housekeeping duties after group ends - sweep floors, ensure that program space is organized for the next session.

6. Conduct in-service training at RASS.

7. Accompanies Schools Out group on fieldtrips when scheduled.

8. Participate in community and agency events to promote RASS and to provide educational materials and information to the community of Richmond.

9. Maintain records and documentation for evaluation of all projects/programs.

10. Perform other related duties as required.

11. Act in a professional and ethical manner

**Qualifications**:
Require Grade 12 **or** the equivalent combination of education and experience working with 6-12 year olds

**Job Skills and Abilities**:
1. Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

2. Facilitate workshops, classroom management and public speaking

3. Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, outlook, internet and adobe acrobat

4. Able to organize self and others, and have good time management skills

**Other Requirements**:
Safety Orientated First Aid and CPR certification
Proof of Covid Vaccination

**Other Assets**:
Group work with children ages 6-12

Additional or a second language

Creative and dynamic personality

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 12 per week

**Salary**: From $23.27 per hour

RASS is mandated by the health authority to have all staff vaccinated against Covid-19. We also follow the health authority's recommendations in regards to our response to Covid-19.
