Human Resources Advisor

**Overview**:
The **Human Resources Advisor,** based in Edmonton and reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of HR policies, programs, and procedures. This position encompasses strategic relationship-building with company leaders, collaboration with operational teams to steer workforce management initiatives, and providing expert guidance on human resources practices. Additionally, your responsibilities extend to identifying training needs, resolving workplace conflicts, ensuring legal compliance, and enhancing employee engagement.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide expert guidance and support to management on all labour relations matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Ensure leaders are well-equipped regarding competitive compensation, recruitment, selection, and retention.
- Build and foster relationships with company leaders and operational teams to contribute to the development and achievement of business strategies.
- Provide guidance on performance improvement plans and employee development initiatives.
- Identify training needs and coordinate programs to enhance employee skills.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee and management inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Assist in the corporate recruitment process, including job posting and interview coordination.
- Implement initiatives to foster employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Provide support for termination processes, meetings, and administration.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPHR designation preferred.
- 5+ years of directly related Human Resources experience.
**Skills**:
- Employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated skills in understanding the importance and sensitivity around privacy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent business acumen and strategic orientation.
- Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Detail-oriented individual with superior organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
- Experienced in fostering an entrepreneurial values-based culture.
