Kitchener, Canada First Step Language Academy Full time

Teachers have the flexibility to choose their classes but are expected to complete a 'term,' typically comprising 10 sessions over 10 weeks.

In-person lessons take place at WRDSB schools, libraries, coffee shops, and clients' homes.

**Main Responsibility**
- **Critical to this role is the commitment of responsible instructors who arrive punctually for classes and uphold their commitment to the sessions they undertake.**_

**Additional responsibilities include**:

- Design engaging lessons for our students
- Guide and engage rather than lecture students towards meeting their learning objectives
- Consider students individual learning styles and preferences
- Assign homework after each session
- Offer constructive feedback to students and parents
- Help students prepare for IELTS, TEFL and other language proficiency tests
- Help students with improving their essay writing, completing assignments and/or improving their grades in school

**Requirements**:

- Fluent in English
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Current residency in Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge OR London
- Prior tutoring experience or teaching experience
- Experience teaching or tutoring English or ESL classes
- Teaching certificate or background in education

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $22.50-$26.66 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 15 per week
