To conduct all housekeeping duties at the Betel Home Foundation in a responsible and safe manner, making the physical aspects of the Home a clean environment for the resident. In performing these duties employees shall treat all residents and their possessions in a respectful manner.

**RESPONSIBLE FOR**: General housekeeping duties

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
1. Ability to read, write and follow written instructions.

2. Previous experience is desirable but no essential. Personnel will reach full productivity following

on-the-job training.

3. All Employees are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with the Betel Home Policy Immunizations for Betel Home Employees.

**DUTIES**:
1. Responsible for cleaning of all assigned areas.

2. Maintain floors as per instructions.

3. Clean and polish all glass, stainless steel etc.

4. Keep locker and utility rooms clean and tidy.

5. Sanitize beds, drawers, and furniture on change of residents.

6. Complete housecleaning of resident’s rooms semi-annually and when there is a change of residents

7. Compete records of rooms housecleaned, drapes dry cleaned, floors washed and polished and

maintain any other records that may be necessary from time to time.

8. Advise maintenance by requisition of any repairs to fixtures, equipment, new light

bulbs that are required, etc. Also report any irregularities that may be dangerous to residents

or staff.

9. Be familiar with, and prepared to carry out fire and other emergency procedures.

10. The above listed duties and responsibilities reflect the core functions of the position. Related duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to the operation of the facility.

Functions:
1. Demonstrates use of all equipment in a safe manner.

2. Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of resident safety principles and practices in all daily activities.

3. Supports an environment which avoids, prevents, and corrects all activities or actions which may results in adverse outcomes in the delivery of health care services.

4. Provides a safe environment by ensuring the adherence to Workplace Safety and Health regulations and policies and Infection Control guidelines.

5. Obeys all safety and health rules and follows recommended Safe Work Procedures.

6. Informs supervisor of any unsafe acts, work condition, occurrences, near misses, injuries or illnesses immediately.

7. Demonstrates a working knowledge of Workplace Hazard Materials Information Systems (“WHMIS”) and adheres to the procedures for handling and storing controlled substances as described in the Material Safety Data Sheets (“MSDS”).

8. Uses personal protective equipment as required.

9. Demonstrates understanding of role and responsibilities in fire prevention and disaster preparedness and participates in safety and health programs including the region’s Fire, Disaster and Evacuation plan.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $15.51-$18.39 per hour
