Dog Trainer

As a Dog Trainer at The Petaway, you will play a crucial role in helping dogs and their owners achieve better communication, behaviour, and harmony. You will be responsible for designing and conducting effective training programs that cater to the unique needs of each dog and their owner. Your expertise and passion for positive reinforcement training will contribute to creating a positive and enriching environment for both clients and their furry companions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Training Program Development:_
- Design customized training programs based on individual dog behaviour, needs, and goals.
- Implement positive reinforcement training techniques to address specific behavioural challenges and improve obedience.
- Training Sessions:_
- Conduct group and one-on-one training sessions for clients and their dogs.
- Teach basic and advanced obedience commands, leash manners, and behaviour modification.
- Client Communication:_
- Build strong client relationships through effective communication and understanding of their training objectives.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance to clients on training techniques, expectations, and progress tracking.
- Progress Tracking:_
- Regularly assess and document each dog's progress and behaviour changes during the training program.
- Modify training strategies as needed to ensure positive outcomes.
- Education and Workshops:_
- Assist in organizing and conducting training workshops and seminars for clients and the public.
- Share insights into dog behaviour, training methodologies, and responsible pet ownership.
- Health and Safety:_
- Ensure the well-being and safety of all dogs and clients during training sessions.
- Follow health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and incidents.
- Equipment Management:_
- Ensure training equipment is used appropriately and maintained in good condition.
- Educate clients on proper use of training tools.
- Record Keeping:_
- Maintain accurate records of each dog's training progress and behavior modification.
- Continual Learning:_
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in dog training techniques and methodologies.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Qualifications:_
- Certified Dog Trainer with recognized training certification(s).
- Strong understanding of positive reinforcement training methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to tailor training approaches to individual dogs' needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for dogs.
