Cleaner (Part-time) - Strathroy

**Responsibilities**:

- Performs general cleanup of designated YOU site(s);
- Sweeps and mops floors, vacuum carpeted areas, dumps garbage and recycling bins, performs all cleaning aspects of halls, offices, staff meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchens, as well as washes walls, windows, furniture and any window coverings.
- Cleans and stocks kitchen and restroom facilities.
- Determines needed material supplies.
- Wipes down high touch point surfaces.
- Adheres to daily or weekly list of tasks.
- Assist in the cleanup of external property.
- Empty/fill dispensers.
- Notify maintenance personnel when repairs are required.
- Participate in health and safety training including WHMIS and applies this knowledge in the workplace
- Report any violations of the Health and Safety Act or the regulations, or the existence of any hazard
- Ensure all workplace incidents are reported in a timely manner in accordance with legislation, and YOU policies and procedures for workplace injuries and incidents
- Complete deep cleans which may contain sharps, feces, urine or blood.
- Other related duties, as required

**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must have communication skills, customer service, attention to details and be comfortable with a variety of people. The incumbent must demonstrate friendliness, accountability, and dependability in dealing with the youth participants and YOU staff. Additionally, the following qualifications are expected:

- 1-2 years related work experience is preferred - Commercial Cleaning
- First Aid is considered an asset
- Knowledge of standards for cleanliness and hygiene
- Demonstrated professional work habits, encourage staff to act with integrity and recognize this trait in others and reward them appropriately.
- Strong communication skills including communicating additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.
- Experience participating pre-shift meetings reviewing all information pertinent to the day's business.
- Ability to adhere to all Youth Opportunities Unlimited Guidelines, Policies, Rules and Regulations.
- Valid G License required with a clear drivers abstract required (last 3 years)
- Skillset to communicate with youth in vulnerable situations. Including deep cleans which may contain sharps, feces, urine or blood.
- Working cellphone and willingness to use it for work purposes such as work orders and on call with signed agreement.

**Rate: $15.00-$18.00/hour**
