**Job Title**:Human Resources Specialist

**Department**:Administration

**Job Statement**:

- To lead a full spectrum of Human Resources programs and services.
- To lead the day-to-day activities of Human Resources and Payroll functions.

**Essential Functions**:

- Ensures compliance with federal labour standards.
- Reviews the HR Policies and Procedures for all employees.
- Completed recruitment and selection for all positions within the company.
- Implements and maintains a Human Resources Information System to drive HR data tracking and metrics reporting.
- Maintains the employment-personnel files, recruitment files, etc. to legislated maintenance schedules.
- Recommends updates to the HR Manual.
- Participates in and support the company’s SMS program.
- Responds to HR related inquiries/requests from Management.
- Participates in and support the company’s SMS program.
- Performs other duties, as necessary and as assigned by the Manager.

**Job Knowledge and Skills**:

- **a. Knowledge**_
- A general understanding of functional HR.
- A general understanding of applicable employment legislation and regulations including Federal Labor Code, Canadian Human Rights Act, etc.
- A general understanding Payroll and Benefits.
- An understanding of the business operation of the Company and MRO/AMO industry considered an asset.
- **b. Skills**_
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible can-do attitude with strong sense of responsibility and ability to take initiative.
- Strong administrative and coordination skills, particularly maintaining meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to execute projects.
- Professionalism, integrity, tact, diplomacy, resourcefulness and judgement.
- Effective verbal communication and writing skills; the ability to draft related documents using “plain language”.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and multi-tasking abilities.
- Desire to learn and good awareness of best practises and industry trends in HR Management.
- Intermediate+ proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

**Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in HR Management or a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline plus a post-graduate certificate/diploma in HR Management considered an asset.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation preferred.
