**INTERNAL/EXTERNAL JOB POSTING**:
**Roads**Operator 1 - Winter Operations**

**(2 Existing Temporary Full Time - November 2025 to March 2026)**

**The Town of Wasaga Beach** is seeking energetic, self-motivated Roads Operator 1 for winter operations to operate and maintain vehicles and equipment, necessary in carrying out the various winter operations and maintenance works in the Public Works Department, in a safe and appropriate manner.

**Qualifications**:

- Ontario Secondary School diploma (or equivalent);
- Possess a valid Ontario Driver’s Class “DZ” License - Acceptable Abstract will be required upon hire;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on similar equipment and demonstrated experience in the safe operation of heavy-duty vehicles, including single axle and tandem axle plow and sander combination units, road and drainage maintenance experience and truck safety;
- Previous experience plowing snow in residential urban areas is preferred,
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned from time to time normally assigned to other job classifications;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to complete forms and records accurately;
- Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to apply, relevant safety policies, standards and legislation (Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Highway Traffic Act, etc.);
- CPR and First Aid Training preferred;
- Ability to Work Winter Operations Shift Times (5:00 am - 1:30 pm OR 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm);
- Occasional weekend and call-in response may be required;
- Ability to provide an acceptable criminal reference check upon hire;
- Applicants are advised that written, oral and practical testing may form part of the selection process.

**Hourly rate**: $29.03 per Schedule ‘A’ of the CUPE Collective Agreement.
