**Summary**

The Head Cashier is responsible for maintaining, managing, and organizing the Cash department within the Breathe Outdoors retail store.

**Job Duties**
- Provide customers with expert customer service and proactively build and maintain customer relationships
- Motivate staff and maintain a positive work environment
- Train cashiers, providing feedback and performance management
- Investigate and correct errors made at the cash registers in a timely manner; report errors to Management on a weekly basis
- Prepare the daily bank deposit
- Be aware of and effectively communicate the following to Cash staff current sales promotions; policies regarding payments and exchanges; warranty procedures;
store security practices
- Assist with year-end inventory preparation and counts
- Prepare general inventory counts and corrections
- Help create, follow-up and complete direct transfers, special orders and web orders
- Update KPI and close rate hourly reports
- Keep cash desk stocked with product, merchandised and tidy
- Supply orders and general building maintenance requests
- Monthly Head Cashier meeting
- Write offs

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Extensive experience as a cashier would be an asset
- Basic accounting skills

**Work Conditions**
- Retail store and office setting
- Position involves standing for long periods of time
- Occasional overtime may be required
- May be required to work occasional on/off-site promotional events, including evenings and weekends
