**Position Description**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or Health Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or MLT
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of Meditech preferred
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Performs gross examination, complete dissection.
- Clear and concise description of surgical specimen (dictation).
- Procures tissue samples for special techniques i.e. electron microscopy, flow cytometry, IHC, IF, etc.
- Handles special tissue samples, i.e. lymph nodes, open lung biopsies, renal biopsies, etc.
- Photographs gross specimens, identify and files.
- Ensures proper maintenance of equipment, supplies and cleanliness of surgical pathology area.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Other duties as assigned.

Monday-Friday, days
