Cyber Security Instructor

Lighthouse Labs (LHL) is currently seeking a Cyber Security Instructor to teach our program online and lead our Part-Time instructors and Mentors. Through these learning experiences, students gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enter and grow a career in the field of Cyber Security threat analysis, risk management, cyber security standards, policies, and procedures, and exploring Cyber Security fundamentals such as ethical hacking and scanning. This position’s primary role will be to lead PT Instructors and a team of mentors day-to-day, in a series of work based and applied learning units. We structure our teaching opportunities and we require our Cyber Security Instructors to be available from 12:00pm - 2:00pm EST 2-5 days/ week, with an option of picking up a maximum of 35 hrs/week to mentor students from the comfort of your own home or wherever you sit down to work. The Lead Instructor will work with the LHL Education Delivery Team and Mentorship team to support students, including being involved in recruitment, hiring, and of new instructors and mentors.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Delivering course curriculum in the classroom and/or online in alignment with course objectives, pedagogical approach, and evaluation policies and procedures
- Setting clear and transparent expectations and instructions to students, providing student-centric academic support, and collaborating with the Education Delivery team as required
- Designing active learning strategies and educational experiences using best practices
- Evaluating student progress/achievement and providing clear formative and summative feedback to students and Education Team
- Attending periodic Instructor meetings and events; completing mandatory employee training; Compliance with all Sheridan Policies and Procedures
- Leading our PT instructors/mentors, teaching, mentoring
- Maintain PT instructor and mentor satisfaction and retention
- Send, track and summarize PT instructor and mentor feedback
- Point of contact for mentors
- Represents Education Delivery Instructor scope for Corp/Gov Projects
- Identify problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that the curriculum could improve.
- Lead PT instructor and mentor
- Create and maintain the PT instructor schedule
- Help the Mentorship Team maintain the mentor schedule
- Manage PT instructor onboarding and training
- Receives PT teacher feedback, distributes feedback as appropriate and delegates action items
- Deliver lectures and provide expert technical guidance to students who are building exciting projects using the most cutting-edge technologies
- Collaborate & ensure feedback loop w/ Product & Software Team is well established
- Reviews existing programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.

**What we need from you**:

- Minimum of 2 years related professional experience in Cyber Security
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study is required. Master’s Degree preferred. Industry experience will be considered an equivalent;
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry preferred;
- Strong network of contacts with other professionals in the Cyber Security industry;
