**Employment Opportunity - General Manager**

The Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC) is the hub for recreation and community on the South Shore. Located in Bridgewater Nova Scotia, the LCLC is a leader in the health and economic success of our region. The sport, recreation and community facility houses an NHL-size arena, an aquatic centre which is suited to both leisure and competitive users, a therapeutic pool, a public library and other multi-purpose spaces.

We have an exciting opportunity for a leader with a passion for community, sports, recreation, and entertainment. As our next **General Manager **you have the experience and aptitude to deliver on the strategic, financial, and operational direction of the organization through your strong financial acumen, strategic focus with the ability to market the facility and deliver superior customer service. Your role includes fostering a sense of community and ensuring the facility, and its staff are welcoming for all individuals.

Under the direction of the Board, you will be responsible for developing and implementing long-range strategic plans, annual business and operational plans and associated budgets. Managing a staff of forty (40), you will keep your finger on the pulse of day-to-day and operational matters.

**Key Roles and Responsibilities**
- Build partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to enhance offerings for sports, community, entertainment, and special events.
- Preparation, management and rationalization of annual operating and capital budgets, presentations for approval to the Board.
- Reporting to the Board as required, such tracking of all financial transactions, budget forecasting.
- Develop new and maintain current revenue opportunities, such as existing and new partnerships and sponsorship opportunities.
- Develop and implement cost saving measures to sustain the immediate and long term responsibility of full cost recovery and financial stabilization of the facility.
- Liaise with all users, vendors, tenants, the general public and stakeholders.
- Develop a communication plan and marketing plan.
- Prepare management plans and strategic plans, both short and long term, and a marketing plan in conjunction with the Board to ensure the facility has a strategic vision that is financially sustainable and meets growing trends in community wellness and sport programs.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Undergraduate degree (in Commerce, Business, Recreation, or equivalent) is an asset.
- Leadership experience of 10 years with 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in facility management.
- Experience in budget management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

**Compensation and Benefits**
- Annual salary to commensurate with qualifications and experience - $81,500 to $95,900
- Comprehensive benefits and pension plan is provided.
- This is a permanent position and requires some weekend and evening work, based on a 40-hour work week.
